Line dancing may not be so fashionable nowadays but it still remains a great way to keep fit and a real source of fun. Mike Baker, a qualified and experienced line dancer teacher, takes a class on Thursday mornings at Lhanbryde Community Centre. These lessons are for anybody who enjoys dancing and music. Contrary to popular belief the music for the dances is not just Country and Western, but takes in a whole range from old classics to modern pop. You do not have to be an expert to join one of Mike’s classes as he teaches the basic steps and goes through the dances methodically so that everyone can join in. The benefit of line dancing is that it is one of the most sociable types of dancing; you do not need a partner and new friends are quickly made in the line.
